This event is a private event for patients from the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab. ** Registration is for general volunteers only **

Mission: Adaptive kayaking program allows individuals interested in beginning or resuming kayaking after an injury or disability to develop and/or practice the necessary physical, psychosocial and cognitive skills in a safe environment.

Vision: Adaptive kayaking program is directed toward achieving and maintaining optimal levels of independence, productivity, and well being, as well as enter/re-enter the mainstream of community life.

Description of Program: Participants meet with Adaptive Adventures staff to assess safety, kayaking abilities, endurance level, and proper fitting of equipment (kayak and paddle). Then the entire group will get in their kayaks and we will kayak around Busse Woods. 

What to Bring:

  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Towel & dry clothes (just in case)
